The article titled "Shame On Us" finally brings an open unbiased view to the allegations against Gen. Vang Pao and the other 10 men charged in the case. Mr. Metcalf I appreciate your article and views on this issue. I agree with everything you have written because they are the truth and it is sad to see that the government even tries to "prosecute" a man for something they themselves do openly. I am proud to be an American but I am ashamed that our government will try to bring a case against a man that is doing exactly what they taught him. I hope someday our government can learn a thing or two from Gen. Vang Pao because if this is what they do to their ally I cannot even begin to imagine what they would to do an enemy.I was relieved to see that Gen. Vang Pao was released on Friday. I know the prosecutors of this case will try to make it seem like Gen. Vang Pao did a "bad" thing but it is evident the prosecutors are a bunch of hypocrites. If there is anyone who could take the heat... I could not think of anyone else but Gen. Vang Pao. He is a strong, brave, charismatic, and loyal Hmong-American. He has remained by the American's side for 32 years and even to this day he has not uttered a word to say otherwise. Again, thank you Mr. Metcalf for shining some truth on this issue.
