Flag Day, 1999
Geoff Metcalf Broadcasts live from the KSFO 560 tent as volunteers (background) get ready to unfurl the world's largest flag. Also Pictured are Jose the producer (left) and Howard the engineer (center).
Volunteers get ready as the flag is about to be unfurled.

Flag Day, 1999 was co-sponsored by the Special Olympics. A "Plane Pull" Competition was held in which teams attempted to pull an airplane a given distance in the shortest amount of time. Here are three shots from the "Plane Pull".

"Ski" Dempski owns the "Super Flag". "Ski" is pictured here with Kuni Sitira.

To see either of the two shots full size, click on on them. Then, use the back key on your browser to return here. A series of 12 other aerial shots can be downloaded in .zip format, as well as additional shots taken on the ground.

If you don't have the unzip program, you can get the files individually from the download area.

The following aerial shots (as well as the aerial shot of the "Plane Pull") were taken by two great guys from the San Jose Police Department from their police helicopter. Pictured on the right is Officer Pilot Larry Ellsworth, on the left is "photographer" Sgt. Gary Hirata. Thanks again guys!
